Western Canada’s leading independent reputation management and communications firm is looking for a mid-level media relations consultant to fill a one-year contract position ending July 1, 2011.

The ideal candidate understands the importance of communications strategy and can provide strategic media relations counsel. You must be a flawless writer, able to draft, edit, and proof creative news pitches for print, broadcast and social media, effortlessly. You can easily edit for length, tone and voice. You can implement national media campaigns and can draw on your journalism background to advise clients on the inner workings of the news media. You will have 1-3 years of journalism experience in addition to experience working in a public relations agency, with some knowledge of account management. You must be experienced with social media applications, their use and how they can be activated in a public relations strategy.

The successful applicant will work closely with the senior management team to manage client issues, crisis communications and ongoing campaigns that build manage and protect our clients’ reputations.
