Q  What character trait do you seek out in business relationships?

Integrity. This transcends everything in terms of being able to count on people doing what they say they are going to do – good or bad.

Q  What is the one reputation characteristic you would like to leave as your business legacy?

He was good to his word. That has always been what I believe, whether it is negotiating the softwood lumber deal or any other. If people see you living up to your word it is something worthwhile.

Q  What is the one reputation characteristic you would like to leave as your personal legacy?

He cared about his community and gave back. I think this is important whether it is my community here in Vancouver or in Williams Lake - we all have a responsibility to give back.

Q  What or where is your greatest escape from the work life?

Grand kids and baseball.

Q  What is your favourite place to eat in the world?

La Grenouille in New York City, if it has to be one. It is famous for French fare, a fabulous wine list and wonderful staff. It is infamous for Conrad Black’s birthday bash for Barbara. If you want to go, book six weeks in advance and dress up.
